Seems like USB 3.0 is on the road, with promised speeds that overtake the IEEE 1394 (known as Firewire) port, the new USB will be focused on energy saving. Engineers claim that the transfer speed will be up to 5 Gigs a second (about 600MB) but the party won’t begin until 2010.
